My thanks goes out to all of the veterans for doing what you do. Without your dedication and love for your country, we would not be able to enjoy the freedoms and the lifestyle that we are able to in America. So, Thank You! Enjoy your Veterans Day!!

A Salute to Our Veterans
I wanted to take the time out to say Happy Veterans Day to all of the veterans. My dad was a vet and served in the Korean War. I wasn't around during that time, but I can only imagine the anxiety my mother went through while he was away at war. My heart goes out to all of the families who have servicemen and women currently abroad fighting to keep America safe and free.

TH Winter Distress Inks
There were a great many people who took advantage of the offer for the Tim Holtz Fall Distress Ink Pad Sets. They just announced the Winter DIs and the colors are really pretty:
If you'd like to get a set of these limited edition inks, the SDSS Store will be selling them for $14.99 per set, plus shipping. Simply send me an e-mail to sdss.orders@verizon.net with how many sets you would like and your complete mailing address and I will get your order placed.
I will be placing one large group order for these inks on Saturday, November 12, 2011 -- about a week from now. If you know of anyone who may like to order some, please share this information with them.
These are currently in-stock at Ranger and retailers are limited to a certain quantity that can be ordered. Don't miss out on these great ink colors!
Much Love,

Dymonz Dezignz Journalz: A Year Long Art Journaling Workshop
On January 1, 2012, I will be kicking off a free year long workshop called Dymonz Dezignz Journalz. This is an art journaling (visual journaling) workshop which is open to all who care to join me for this journey.
An art journal is both a journal and a book of art. It can be created by altering a book to use, by purchasing a journal to use, or by making a journal yourself from scratch. We will be altering a book to use for this year long journey. It is designed to get you in the habit of journaling regularly, teach some great mixed media and art journaling techniques that can be used on many art projects other than just journalz, and to get you to take some time out for self. We so often are creating a gift for this person, a card for that person, a project for a swap... How often do we take time out to simply make something for ourselves? This Workshop will, by the end of 2012, have caused you to create the most beautiful keepsake of your artwork and crafting that you could ever imagine.
We're starting the process now -- there are some preliminary things that will need to be done prior to January 1st in order for everyone to start out on the same page -- figuratively and literally. I have posted a general supply list which tells you about each item we'll be using rather than simply listing what to go pick up -- you should know why you're getting the item(s) as well! There will also be instruction given on how to prepare the book you've chosen to alter in order to have it ready on day 1 (January 1st) so that we can get it started. And there is general information that is just good to know as we embark on this journey...
Treat yourself in 2012 starting right at the beginning of the year. Join us for Dymonz Dezignz Journalz and create something beautiful for yourself...
Much Love,
Dymonz...

Altered Dominoes
I feel like it's been forever since I've posted something creative...
Over at the Village in the Off The Page Group, our quarterly swap is Altered Dominoes. Along with the item we're altering, we have to include 3 mediums. I have never altered a domino before, nor even seen any of the things that can be done with them until April Dawn chose this as our quarterly swap. You will be amazed at what you can do with a domino, as I soon found out.
I chose to make monogrammed keychains for each person:
My 3 mediums are ink, heat embossing, and metal. I used TH alcohol inks to create a "marbled" background. Then I sealed it with Inkssentials Glue n'Seal. Next, I used a VersaMark Watermark ink pad and stamped the flower, dusted it with Zing Embossing Powder, and heat embossed. Finally, I used my hot glue gun and adhered each person's first initial. They came out really nicely for a first attempt at altering dominoes!
If you haven't come by yet or if you haven't been by lately, don't hesitate to hop on over to the Village and get your creativity infused with a wealth of goings on. The DT keeps things interactive and fun over there and there are always fresh ideas and new things to get involved in. Starting in January, there is going to be a free year long art journaling workshop as well. If you're looking for some new things to get involved in, check out the Village...
